When you get rank by implementing an exact match keyword google rank you for  some words that you did not work for them. When you feel like competing with your competitors after getting a certain amount of traffic, Domain authority and rank. Then you can start working with a short tail. Characteristics of Exact match or Long Tail keywords:  Low  Competition Low  Traffic High Conversion rate. Maybe you are perplexed by how high the conversion rate is ? If 1000 visitors search for the “mobile”, Can you ensure that everybody searches for the same intention ? Not at all,   Thus 50 % divided by different intentions.
